We welcome all guests — solo travellers, friends, families, and people of all identities — who respect the land, the staff, and fellow visitors.
Yes. Our cottages and sit-outs are designed for privacy and quiet time together, while the larger common spaces let you mingle when you choose.
Yes! Kids usually love the space. Just note that the natural terrain means occasional insects, uneven paths, deep water bodies, bushy vegetations and open areas — so supervision is necessary.
We have wheelchair ramps built for easy access to the rooms, but the rest of the farm has natural, uneven terrain that may not be suitable for moving around freely. Do contact us in advance—we’ll do our best to support your needs.

Yes. We can accommodate your help/driver for stay and meals. If staying in the same room as yours, they will be treated as extra guest. We can also arrange a stay for them otherwise; in such a case each help/driver will be charged at Rs 500* per day for the meals.
*Kindly note, these prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Yes. Long-term stays are available at a discounted price. Please note that Wi-Fi is not currently available, and rates can be discussed in advance. Availability and pricing are subject to season.

Yes. Exploring our Sustainable farming methods and lending a hand with seasonal tasks is part of the farm-stay experience. Guests interested in starting their own farm can also arrange a longer visit to get personal consultations.
There’s plenty for children to discover here. They can wander on gentle nature walks, gather leaves and wild flowers to make their own art, spot and photograph birds and insects, curl up in hammocks with storybooks from our small library, or help walk the farm pets. We have a few interesting board games like Scrabble, Jenga, Azul, etc. for some cognitive involvement. When in season, they can join in wild-food foraging or harvesting. Neighbouring kids are very easy to make friends with and volunteers if present can provide wonderful interactions as well – all while parents keep a casual watch.
Activity charges vary depending on the type of experience, the number of staff required, safety measures, resources used, and travel or setup involved. Exact fees are shared at the time of booking and may change based on season and availability.
We have a first-aid kit on-site for minor injuries. Mandangad has several public and private hospitals, including a facility with anti-venom for snakebites in the public hospital. Please note that these hospitals are not equipped to handle major emergencies, so guests should exercise caution
No, not at the moment. Mobile signal is generally okay, with Airtel and Jio working best, but internet can be patchy. We are currently in the process of setting up Wi-Fi for the farm.
We have a friendly cat and two loving dogs whose comfort and safety are our priority. They’re great with people, and we usually welcome visiting pets too! Just let us know in advance. If our pets seem uneasy, we may request that yours be leashed for everyone’s well-being. Pet food can be arranged at an additional cost.
Food & Dining FAQ
Three basic vegetarian meals a day, plus tea or coffee served twice daily, are included in your stay. Optional add-ons and special seasonal preparations or requirements such as vegan and non vegetarian dishes, beverages, etc. can be requested for an additional fee, subject to availability.
Yes. We provide purified spring water drawn from the surrounding mountains. We neither sell nor encourage bottled water. Even the perennial stream where guests often swim is naturally clean and drinkable.
No, but we are respectful of all food choices. We raise free-range chickens for eggs and meat, keep fish in our ponds, and occasionally forage for river crabs and snails. Milk and milk products are sourced daily from free-ranging local cows. While our own journey has included long periods of vegetarian and vegan living, we understand and value guests’ dietary preferences and are happy to provide fully vegan, Jain, or vegetarian meals with advance notice. We follow careful, low-impact practices so that animal farming remains sustainable and supports local farmers’ incomes.
Yes. We occasionally offer special meals based on what the season provides. These can be booked in advance, are subject to availability, and carry an additional charge that varies with seasonal ingredients and market prices

Light snacks are fine; cooking in rooms is not allowed. Guests don’t need to worry about cooking — we lovingly prepare all meals in-house, so you can simply relax and enjoy you stay. You are welcome to participate ,share, learn and help us cook if you wish.
We hope you won’t feel a need to go to the restaurants. We will try our best to take care of all your food requirements including for your pets as well. However, if you still feel the need, the closest town, Mandangad is approximately 6 kms away and quite a few vegetarian and non vegetarian restaurants are available.
Wildlife Awareness FAQ
Chirak Van is part of a thriving natural ecosystem. You may encounter insects, frogs, lizards, snakes or small mammals. Most avoid human presence and are harmless if left undisturbed. Staying mindful and observant is the best approach.
While rare, it is possible for smaller creatures like frogs, rats, or snakes to find their way inside, especially during certain seasons. We take care to keep rooms sealed and clean, but the farm is not a sealed-off environment. If you spot anything concerning, please inform us immediately.
Spiders and lizards are common and completely harmless. Scorpions are occasionally seen—especially in monsoon months. Avoid walking barefoot indoors or outdoors, and always check shoes or bedding before use.
We seal gaps in doors and windows, keep outdoor lights off at night, and encourage guests to avoid leaving food crumbs around. Rooms are cleaned regularly to prevent attracting insects or rodents.
Stay calm. Do not try to scare it away or go near it. Let us know immediately—we will handle it. Remember, most animals are just passing through and are not aggressive unless provoked.
Always carry a torch if you’re stepping out in the dark.
Wear closed footwear, especially in grassy or muddy areas.
Avoid walking around at night unless necessary.
If you’re walking after sunset, a walking stick can help gently alert animals.
Volunteering FAQ
No. We do not take any kind of fees from volunteers. We provide moderate stay and meals for all volunteers for the work exchange.
Yes, we expect a minimum of 15 days commitment from volunteers. This period helps us to spend meaningful time with volunteers and for volunteers to understand the nature of farming. We encourage volunteering not merely for work exchange but also for the exchange of thoughts, ideas, culture, food recipes and much more.
No. There is no limit to the number of days you wish to stay and volunteer with us beyond the minimum 15 days duration. We have had volunteers who have stayed with us for 3 months and so. However, the extension is subject to review after the minimum 15 days duration.
Volunteers are expected to provide work exchange of 6 hours daily for 6 days a week. The tasks vary as per the seasons and priority. A few examples could be planting, weeding, manuring, collecting dry leaves from nearby areas for mulching, serving paid guests who might be there, designing furniture pieces from old wood, wall arts, harvesting etc. Everyone (including the hosts) are expected to participate in daily cleaning activities like cleaning common spaces and dining area, doing the dishes, cleaning the toilets and bathrooms, etc.
Most of the tasks will be outdoor tasks (no matter the sun or the rains). We adjust the work timings as needed to avoid extreme heat.
Anyone is welcome — adults, seniors, differently-abled individuals, and children. Please note that children’s participation is entirely the responsibility of their parents or guardians and all volunteers are expected to follow staff guidance and safety rules.
You can apply through Workaway, Worldpackers, or WWOOF, where we are actively listed. Alternatively, you can fill out the Google form below to get in touch with us directly.
