Volunteer On The Farm

As a way of giving back
We feel incredibly fortunate to have found our grounding at Chirakvan. Along the way, many people opened their hearts, homes, and farms to us—offering a place to stay, to learn, to work, and to grow. In our toughest times, those open spaces and generous hosts helped us regain our balance and strength.
As a way of giving back, we keep our space open—for friends and strangers alike—to visit, stay, volunteer, or work with us. We believe that collective gatherings and working together break down social and mental barriers and create spaces of abundance, learning, and friendship.

Till Date …
Since 2022, we’ve hosted volunteers from over 30 countries. The help we’ve received has been immense—but more than the work, it’s the cultural exchange that makes it special. For us, volunteering isn’t just about free help on the farm. It’s about shared meals, conversations that stretch into the night, and the music that fills our fields while we work—each person bringing their cuisine, culture, stories, and songs.
Imagine a dinner table with people from nine different nations, six religions, and a mix of identities—debating world politics late into the night, sharing feminist and queer perspectives, swapping recipes, jamming on traditional instruments, or teaching our local children a song and dance from halfway across the world. These are the moments we treasure.

Expectations from Volunteers
- Minimum 15 days stay
- 6 hours per day; 6 days per week work exchange
- No alcohol, drugs or any form of abusive substances
- Respect local culture and values
- Be mindful of nature and creatures around

Stay for Volunteers
We have a mud house built using traditional methods which has attic space for volunteers to stay. We have accommodated more than 10 people at a time.
It is a basic dorm style accommodation which will be shared when there are more volunteers. Private rooms can be made available (in the attic space) to couples and long term volunteers (more than 1 month).
There are enough spaces around the house to pitch tents.
We provide mattress (hard foam) and beddings (bed sheet, pillow, warm blankets) and mosquito net. There is a provision of hot water kettle, tea powder, coffee and sugar in the volunteers space.
All meals and tea will be provided.
